How would you like to stay at our campground?

Our campground and cottage village is open year-round and offers traditional camping with RVs, trailers, and tents. We also offer cottages and mobile homes.

Our mobile homes are luxuriously designed with a furnished patio, fully equipped kitchens, showers, and toilets. Our cabins are winterized and were renovated in 2019—they are fully equipped with kitchenettes and running water.

Campground open year-round

Vita Sandars Camping is located right next to one of Lake Vänern’s most beautiful beaches in Mellerud. We are a four-star campground that’s open year-round. You don’t have to travel far to find a campground in the fall, winter, spring, or summer.

With Vita Sandars Camping as your base, you’re close to everything. Here, you can discover new and exciting places and take part in the activities offered at the campground. Whether you’re looking to rent a cabin or have your own accommodations—such as a motorhome, tent, or RV—you’re close to everything. Our campground in Mellerud is perfect for families with children who want to be close to fun and games, as well as for retirees and backpackers who just want to relax and unwind.

Housing Options

Rent a place to live year-round

Vacation Village

Our campground has 30 winterized cabins, all of which are equipped with a kitchenette and other amenities. The cabins have running water but do not have showers or toilets. All of our cabins have a living area of 11.6 square meters and a furnished porch.

Camping

At Vita Sandars, we have 260 campsites to choose from, all of which have a 10-amp electrical connection. During pub nights, there may be some noise from the sites closest to the restaurant.

Mobile home

For those of you who prefer more comfortable accommodations, we offer mobile homes. They offer a slightly more luxurious option than traditional travel trailers and are also located in a natural setting. All of our mobile homes feature a fully equipped kitchen, shower, and toilet, and can accommodate up to 8 people.

Service Centers & Other Information

We have two service buildings, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need: a laundry room, showers, a TV room, a conference room, a recycling center, an automatic waste disposal system, and more. When you check in at the campground, you’ll need to load a CampTrac card. You’ll then use this card to make payments throughout the campground.

Activities at Our Campground

With Dalsland’s magnificent natural scenery as a backdrop, the region offers a wealth of activities and adventures for campers. From peaceful moments by the lake to heart-pounding adventures in the forest—there’s something for everyone!

Sun & Swimming

Those looking to take a dip can choose between the clear waters of Lake Vänern or one of our heated pools. Our pool area features both a children’s pool and deeper pools. For the daredevils, there’s also a water slide.

Adventure Golf

We have a challenging 12-hole adventure golf course. Who will be the reigning champion during your vacation?

Rostock's Health Spa

During the 19th century, it was considered one of Sweden’s best mineral springs. There is a coffee shop and a local history museum here. Are you particularly interested in history? Then don’t miss a visit to Kårehögen, the region’s largest Iron Age burial mound, where folklore has it that King Kåre rests wrapped in an oxhide.

Workout

For active outdoor enthusiasts, there are great jogging trails, hiking along marked trails, a soccer field, outdoor shuffleboard, pedal cars for 4, 2, and 1 person, and an outdoor gym. At Vita Sandars Camping, it’s easy to stay in shape even while on vacation.

Horseback Riding & Play

During the summer, we offer pony rides, which are very popular with the kids. Is the pony already taken? Play at one of the playgrounds on the campground, where you’ll also find a climbing net and a bouncy cushion.

Entertainment

Various activities and entertainment are held during the high season. Game nights, pub nights, sing-alongs, trivia, and karaoke are just a few examples. Check our Facebook and Instagram for the schedule.

The Aqueduct in Håverud

An iron trough built in 1868 that guides boat traffic over the rapids. The aqueduct is 32 meters long and contains 33,000 rivets. A must-see when visiting Mellerud.
